All I know is our yellow lab puppy thinks these are the greatest! This is the only size that our puppy won't potentially choke on. She has a tendency to chew off one end of other bones (Nylabones) and carry it in a way that it could get stuck in her throat. This one is too big to do that.

I have a shiba inu who is an extremely powerful chewer. Looking for bones and toys that will work for him is very difficult. I bought this bone because he seems to like all the Nylabone bones I bring home. He loved this one too! I'm glad I got the big one. I gave it 3 stars because it only took him about 20 minutes to finish it. It wasn't a challenge for him. I would buy him another one though since its a good price and it makes him happy.

It took a day or two for my dog to begin playing with this bone. It's the perfect size for our 8 lb Dachshund, and it bounces (and apparently floats?) for extra fun. The only problem we have is that its size made it easy for our dog to bury in his crate blankets, so it went unseen at bedtime. When we woke up, we found bright blue chunks of rubber outside the crate. Thankfully, we found all the big pieces, so no harm was done, however we found out the hard way that this is only rated a 3 of 5 on the "chomper" scale. Our older and larger dogs would never have destroyed this, but it seems it didn't hold up for our tiny, tenacious teenager dog! I could really smell the mint inside the chipped off areas, which was neat, so we're definitely going to try and find a 4 or 5 chomp toy from Planet Dog. It's a nice toy for more laid back dogs, just not for intense chewers.

I have two huge dogs who freak out in thunder storms and I live in Florida (help!) In extreme situations, such as tropical storms, I am forced to use prescription medications, but for day to day afternoon thunderstorms, I find these little tabs help take the edge off. These soft chews are the best thing that I have come across for my hyper dog who doesn't like to settle down and rest at night. I give him a two of these and he begins to calm down and relax within 5 minutes. When it's time to go to bed, he lays in the bed and falls asleep without any of the twirling in a circle or digging at the mattress. Okay so I keep hearing my siamese mix needs to lose a lb. It has been over a year and we have only gotten 1/4 lb. off his beautiful fat frame. My other four cats do not have a problem eating the same food, exercising the same amount and all are healthy. So naturally I am a bit embarrassed and perplexed to have a fat cat!

I now load up 3 Slimcat balls in the morning instead of free feeding kibble. They get dehydrated raw cat food for dinner (healthy) and for a snack after dinner and if anyone gets the late nite bunchies, instead of snacking on our toes in bed, they can just to roll a ball around and be exercising at the same time. Our fat cat was throwing up food as soon as he ate the kibble before we introduced the Slimcat. See, when you free feed a cat who is always ravenous, they will waste your money because they eat too fast!!!

And so, no doubt we have made up for the cost of the balls with our cats eating less kibble and not throwing it up as much ;)

Purchase one in every color and give them to your friends!!! I also load one with catnip every now and then and leave the ball on the smallest opening. Cats like eating catnip! I put wheatgrass in there too and they eat that along with the catnip. And if you are feeling naughty, you can fill two Slimcats and load another with 1/2 of a load and leave the holes closed that way your cat will hunt awhile before realizing they are not going to get the food out of it. Please don't think I am a bad Mom! Kids watch tv, my kitties get a closed Slimcat every now. It keeps them busy and active. Whatever works! Slimcat does!

My dogs loved the Loving Pet Sticks but when I read they were made in China, I threw them away and refuse to buy Loving Pet's many other products until they are made in the US. I got this for a younger dog who likes to chew on things. Initially, she had a lot of fun trying to get the squirrel out of the log. But because the log is made out of really flexible rubber, she was able to tear it up pretty easily so it went in the trash relatively quickly. Still have the squirrel, but won't ever buy this item again.

My dog just didn't dig this toy, even after he got the hang of getting the squirrel out. The only part he really liked was the squeaky squirrel. In the end an ill advised trip through the dishwasher reduced the stump to a melted lump and solved the problem.

This is one great toy! My busy, mouthy Cattledogs like it so much they will ask to play with it, sitting and staring at it on the shelf where it's stored. When they first got the toy, it took them just a minute or two to get their mouths around the squirrel, but it took a couple days of play periods for them to figure out how to pull it out of the hole (it's a tight fit). I let them play with the squeaky squirrel for a few minutes, then put it back in and say, "Go find". They love it, and will throw the "stump" around and thrash it back and forth, extending the game.

While the toy is very durable, it is suitable only for observed play, as the chewy rubber of the exterior could be ingested. All the Kyjen toys are made for interactive play, but it's a point that must be stressed: these are not chew toys. The other thing to keep in mind is the amount of dog slobber all that "Go find" spreads around. You may want to confine the play to a room that is easily mopped.

The 9" bones last longer than he does and do not contain scraps or small pieces of hide that cause choking hazards.
