I have 2 standard goldendoodles, each aged 2. One is pretty happy to eat most food, and the other is incredibly picky. Through trial and (much) error, we figured out that the picky one seems to be allergic to poultry, causing lots of loose stools. The non-picky one also seemed to have a temperamental tummy too. We have tried numerous "luxury" brands unsuccessfully due to chronic diarrhea or refusal of the dog to eat it, and had finally settled on Innova red meat large bites before most of the stores stopped stocking it. We then switched to Innova Prime beef and lamb meal which they also liked, but it was recalled twice in the past few months, meaning we had to find something new.

We tried the Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets Lamb Meal & Brown Rice Dry Dog food, and haven't looked back. The dogs love it, and low and behold, we noticed that their poops were entirely different than they'd ever been before. Typically, each would have some days with normal poops and some days with loose or even watery poops on any other food we'd tried. Now, they are having poops that are more like large hamster pellets, really easy to pick up and not stinky. Of note, we generally just give them dry dog food upon which they free feed on throughout the day, plus some non-poultry dog snacks.

On a final note, this is the cheapest dog food I've tried, which is a bonus for us!

Switched to LID veal or venison about 6 months ago for my shih tzu and my chow chow. My shih tzu has severe allergies to most grains and to chicken, which is in nearly all non lid dog food. However, she still threw up about once a week still a major improvement from every day. I decided to go ahead and try the rice and lamb even though I've heard you shouldn't give dogs grains, and he stomache has been in great shape from both ends (oh and no more an*l gland issues either). So, I guess that rice, as a grain, works for some dogs... Anyway, I was in love with N.Balance before, now I feel like our household really can't live without. Thank you for making such great products.
