We give these to our two older dogs, a husky and a 12-lb. Pomeranian mix. Neither finds them too large or unappetizing. For VERY small dogs, I imagine these could be broken into several smaller pieces; they are not rock solid. Both dogs take them as if they're treats, and we love the extra glucosamine! I had my doubts, because my dog hates anything with vitamins in it, including most dog food. The first time I gave one to my little dog he spit it out, licked it, tried it again, and finally managed to eat it a little bit at a time, making a mess all over the floor in the process. Then I figured it was probably too big for him to handle all at once. The tablets are scored, so now I break them into quarters, and he sucks them down like treats. These Vit. are Huge for my Lil Dog aprox 1" round,my Dog also doesn't seem to like the taste either,they Smell like Vit & Protein mix drink & Not very Tasty I'm guessing but as long as they work I'll use them & when there gone I can look for a Vit that my Dog won't mind taking/eating.
