Broke into shards rather then slowly being knawed as per cattle knuckle bones.... It may just be my dog but I have only had safe experiences with knuckle bones from cattle.... won't buy bison again.
Update... Seller was very concerned following review and handled the situation with diligence and fairness. She suggested that this was an anomalous bone with no other complaints having been received. Then went so far as to send me a new bison distal femur( I think ) which my dog has greatly enjoyed with no large shards resulting. Definitely would do business with this seller again! She takes care of her customers...

I have a German Shepherd and she loves to chew on bones-I buy these x-large knuckle bones and they will last a very long time. I give them to her for outside chewing as they will leave a mess on your carpet inside. For inside the house she has an antler bone she loves and no mess (can also order from Amazon)! I highly recommend these bones, my Sam loves the taste and gets very excited when I open up a new one for her. We have a golden who devours knuckle bones. He usually spends hours working them down. So I figured I'd order him a "super knuckle bone" for being such a good boy all of the time! This thing fell apart in 10 minutes and was down to base bones in 20. Not to mention, the pieces were so small I had to take them away so he wouldn't accidentally choke on them.
