We rescued a female boxer who came with severe digestion problems. No matter what she ate loose stools. Not diarrhea, but loose stools. We tried plain boiled chicken, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, you name it all of the all natural, not rich to her system foods. Removing grains. Nothing worked. Took her to the vet periodically as a couple of months went by without improvement. Put her on a medicated food that was SUPER EXPENSIVE. It seemed to work. She is approximately 3 years old and not a senior by any means, but the combination of ingredients and the percentages are a perfect fit for her large breed size and her digestion. Her stool is beautiful and I never thought I'd get so excited to see firm stool. Needless to say, we won't be changing her diet ever. My younger boxer male is on the Diamond Naturals Lamb & Rice and doing very well. Highly recommend the brand for both the quality and the value can't beat it!Diamond is made by a supplier of numerous brand-name products, so I generally trust their ability to produce quality food for my pets. Yes, there have been recalls in the past of Diamond products sold under other labels, but that's true for many manufacturers, if not all, of food and other products. I'm going to buy one brand or another, so buying Diamond label saves money over another company label, and I'm able to buy this product at local farm and ranch supply stores at about $15-20 less than Amazon's price. Even if you can't get this product at your local stores, it's worth ordering from Amazon if free shipping, as this product is formulated very well, especially for my senior dogs.This is very good dog food and the dog loves it. It is worth any price that you can get it for. This dog food is based on protein and is much better, for any dog, than other dog foods are. Amazon ships fast and they are very fair. We got the dog food within 5 days, which surprised us a lot. Buy only Diamond for your dog and you will be as pleased as the dog is.My dog's skin was dry and itchy so I wanted to get a better dog food that wasn't quite as expensive. I read where the corn based dog foods could cause allergies and dry skin. I found this one that was on the top dog food list but not as expensive as the others. Both my dogs like it. I've had it for about a month and my dog isn't itching as much, her skin doesn't have the dry flakes and her hair is shinier.
