This product USED to be great, but they changed it, and it is far worse than it used to be.

My cat LOVED the original Salmon flavored gel. It actually had the ingredients that are listed on the Nutra-vet website. The stuff they make now has about twice as many ingredients, mainly chemicals, and my cat will not touch it. So the 19 ingredients listed on their page are not accurate. There are now 33 ingredients. Specifically, the new formula has Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, corn syrup (not molasses), Hydrolized soy protein, "fiber" (not Psyllium), "Natural Salmon Flavor" (Not Salmon oil), no coconut oil, and too many others to list.

Like Tara below, I was so relieved to find it on-line after my pet store quit carrying it, that I bought several tubes only to find a cheap, awful substitute that my cat will not touch, and that splits out the bottom of the tube because it so freakin' dry and pastey. Why would Nutri-vet do this? I am boycotting this product until they publicly acknowledge that they are going back to the "original formulation" .

I have always had a VERY hard time trying to get my cats to take any kind of oral hairball treatment. They wouldn't eat ANY of it, until I found the Nutri-Vet Hairball Paw Gel THEY LOVED IT! They'd follow me around ASKING for it! Then, all of a sudden, they stopped eating it and will have nothing to do with it now I know why! BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL FORMULATION!!!!!!!!!!

I bought the Nutri-Vet Salmon flavored paw gel a year ago for my newly adopted cat. Stopped using it and eventually threw it out. He loved the old formula, though. I recently purchased the new formula and Mr. Fussy Paws laps it right up. I'm glad I bought it before reading the reviews! But he does like it. It's a little too early to tell if it's really working, but he hasn't had any coughing issues, so I'm hopeful, and I'm about to order more since this seems to be one of the few places that carries it.

My cat loves this stuff (the salmon flavor). She licks it right off my finger, it's her daily treat and no more hair balls!

2 of my cats follow me into the bathroom where I keep it every time I go in there. They're a bit obsessed, and eat it straight from the tube, not knowing it's "good for them". For awhile the company had changed its formula and my cats went from loving it to hating it it had gotten thicker and the taste must have changed, too. Now it's in a different packaging and now it's back to its original formula. My cats love the salmon, but aren't crazy about the other flavor. Surprising, because usually they don't care for fish flavored food they like turkey & chicken, except in this. I'm REALLY disappointed that PetsMart stopped carrying it. I used to clear out their shelves while it was in stock. PetsMart is really stupid not to carry this. My cats hate their version of this. Please don't change your formula again.
