Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We have two tabby cats, one 13 and one 9 years old. Both were on prescription dry cat food up until about 2 years ago, one for allergies, one for kidney issues and then both cats stopped liking those products. We tried many other prescription options from the vet, but in the end, the vet and we agreed to try anything that they would eat. They usually like something for a few months, and then stop, and we move on to the next one. High or good quality is still very important to us. When we were given this bag of Hills dry, we thought we'd give it a try.

At first, they both did not like it. We kept the bag and about 2 weeks later one would eat a little of it, but not the other. We will keep it, and try again in a few weeks.

We do like the hook and latch (Velcro-like) closure material that helps seal the bag closed! Other products that use a zip seal sometimes fail, and this Velcro-like option looks well make, and should last for the life of the bag.

My 3 cats love this food and no longer over eat. I feed my cats only dry food twice a day. They are no longer begging for food in between feeding. This dense, proper protein balanced, no filler food gives my cats the nutrition they need in the appropriate portion I feed them (1/3 cup for each adult cat twice a day). With the same amount of the popular low cost food, not only were they begging for food in between feedings, they were gaining weight.

There was no weight gain in any of the 3 cats after 4 weeks of use. I now exercise them with chasing a light and going after a sparkly toy daily. They have lost weight and have not required an increased food portion size.

Oh, and the litter box is a little more pleasant due to the absence of the fillers in the old food as well as the meat fat sprayed on the food pieces in the old food.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We're trying to help one of our cats lose some weight and I've been looking to grain-free foods as a way to go "lo-carb" for our felines. The cats at this food readily but left a lot in bowl, leading me to think it was more filling than their usual fare. They also seemed as healthy and happy as usual. I'll definitely be looking for this in my local pet store.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Hill's Ideal Balance Grain Free Natural Chicken and Potato Recipe Adult Cats Dry Food provides my cats with an optimum diet that keeps them healthier. In my opinion, spending a little more on quality pet food means spending a little less on future vet bills. While no food is a guarantee against every health problem, keeping your pet at their prime with the help of a good, high quality food like Hill's products is a good start.

One of my cats, an abandoned cat I took in, has a history of repeated UTI's. I'm hoping the cranberries included in the ingredients will help her bladder stay clear of the infectious nasties.

My cats love the flavor. They were satisfied with the recommended amount fed too.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program UPDATE: I just wanted to mention that I ordered another bag of this my cats REALLY love it.

I must have the only cats in the world who like dry food better than wet, but they do.

Maybe it is because neither of them is supposed to have it.

It has been almost three years since my formerly feral queen started getting sick on the food she had eaten for her entire life. I've almost lost her a few times. She has CRF, and she refuses to eat any kind of prescription food, except the prescription food for my other cat, Commander Fluffypants, who gets UTIs. His food makes Mary-Kate violently ill. And, as I mentioned, they are both supposed to be eating wet food only.

But there are only so many flavors they like, and, even those, they get plenty sick of, and when Mary-Kate wet-belfs something, she never ever ever wants to taste it again. So, I've been cheating and embedding treats in their wet food to draw them in.

They like the Ideal Balance better than treats. AND it has lower protein and a better formula with regard to urinary tract health than the treats or other commercially available food. Way cool. Way to go, Hill's.
