It would seem that my dog was not the brightest puppy in her litter. This toy should have come with a complimentary dunce cap for those sad little doggies who fail this test. Pros:* Good to keep your dog from getting bored when you are away.
* It has lasted a while and seems well built. It hasn't been damaged in any way since the time we got it.
* Kept our dog very engaged for 10-15 minutes the first time we gave it to her.
Cons:
* Not as challenging as expected.
* Our dog figured this out within 2-3 times of using it, and now gets to the treats within a few minutes. However, it still keeps her engaged as long as the treats are in it.

My puppy didn't understand it at first glance so I let her watch me insert the treats and with a little encouragement she figured it out from there. She figured it out in under 3 minutes. Wish she would have took a little longer but that's okay because even though she figured it out fast she still loves playing with it and getting her treat rewards. My Sheltie never tires of playing with this puzzle. Of course, finding his treats is always a fun pastime for him, but he seems to enjoy finding new ways to open the puzzle. It didn't take him long to figure it out, initially, but he still gets excited when I put treats in it for him. Interestingly, he has not tried to chew the puzzle pieces (he could easily break them), and he does not pull the puzzle completely apart. He just opens it enough to get his treats out. We have noticed that he does not break or chew up the toys he really likes, so I can say with confidence that this is a favorite.
