These are made in China with possibly suspect ingredients.

Many dog owners are reporting illness related to Chinese dog treats such as these.

But these types of Chinese made dog treats may be problematic, as well.

I won't be buying anything again that isn't made in the U.S.A.

My dog loves the Busy Buddy bone toy that these are made for, but the replacement strips I received were smaller than the ones that came with the bone. With the originals, she would spend 15-20 minutes working one out, and I would sometimes have to remove the ends of the toy for her to get to the part of the strip below the surface. The replacements take her less than a minute to remove with no help on my part.

Maybe I got a bad lot. I may try one more time since she likes the toy so much.

My boston terrier was a big chewer & a huge fan of these, I was too. I had no problems with them & bought them & kept an extra on hand. I normally would let her chew on the ring portion for about 5-10 mins, then take it away, because I never felt completely comfortable with rawhide.

On 5/30/12, as normal, Maddie, had her normal Wednesday afternoon buddy bone access. But when I looked down after about 5 mins, she had eaten the entire ring. I was very surprised, but, as stated: she was a chewer. That night, she didn't eat much dinner & the next day, she didn't eat much either. It was warm weather however, & that was a typical eating pattern for her. On Friday, she began vomiting.

To make a long, sad story a bit shorter, my beloved 3 year old dog went into renal failure. The vet said that her lab levels were so high it appeared she had ingested anti-freeze, which I knew was absolutely impossible. My dog was under my watchful eye at all times, or my significant other, or my dog sitter. (with absolutely no access to a garage). Maddie had a week of IV fluids to see if her kidneys could be restored, but it was obvious this was not going to help.

I finally put her to sleep on Wednesday, 6/13/12. I was heart broken & devastated. The only thing I could think of that was out of the norm from her normal behaviors was eating that Buddy bone ring within a 5 minute time period.

I saved the other rings from that pack for over a year thinking that maybe some day I could afford to have them analyzed, but I finally threw them out. I don't have the money, and I couldn't stand to have them in the house. I may be wrong, it might not have been these rings-but why take a chance? They are made in China-why should anyone take a risk?

My dog has the Busy Buddy Bone and the rawhides from that are fine for him, but he didn't digest these well at all. I guess we'll stick to what we know!!
