My history with this product:

My dog was very ill for 3 days: violent diarrhea and vomiting. Called vet after first day, they instructed me to keep him on a bland diet, and to bring him in if this persisted more than 3 days. Luckily, he got better and I didn't have to take him in. I thought, maybe it's just my dog and he has a sensitive stomach?

I went to the web to research the product and found others had experienced the same thing. So I wondered...why is this product still on the market? I contacted Purina, and after no luck with them (who claimed they never heard of any complaints), I contacted the FDA, which currently has this product under surveillance.

By the way, my dog is not a toy breed, he's a 20 lb. mutt. So say what you want to say about the latest 'not meant for toy breed' disclaimer on the package, he doesn't fall into that category.

Sure, some dogs can tolerate this treat, but why take a chance on your pet's health and life?

My Boston terrier Ronnie enjoys these. They are a good size for her, keep her busy for 20-30 minutes, and help keep her teeth clean. We limit her to no more that one bone a day and she tollerates them very well.

Odie expects his bone every night before he goes to bed. If I do not have one he is upset with me and puts his face in mind like did you not forget something mommy? It is a must in my house.

Gave our lab Busy Bone...we first broke it into smaller pieces as we felt the entire bone was too much to give her all at once. We had to use a sledge hammer to break it up...should have been a clue! She broke a back molar eating even a smaller section. A $400 dollar vet bill and one less tooth is the result of our using this treat. We have 2 unused packages that are going in the trash.

I wish I could give this 0 stars. I agree with the person who recommended googling this product before buying it (or any treat actually). It made my dog really sick. After I took the busy bone away he was fine. If you love your pet don't buy this crap.
