Nice glass jar and I love the pattern all over it. The lid is plasticbut screws on for a good seal. I didn't give it 5 stars because I think the lid's fit could be better. But around our house, trates don't stay long enough to get stale ;0)
I wouldn't go any taller than this size (three sizes are availabethis is thee middle one) though. I am thinking of getting the smaller size as well.
