I love this dog food. Most importantly my 13 year old standard poodle loves this product. He has been a finicky eater since day 1 and for good reason. He was allergic to every dog food on the market. I finally resorted to a home made all natural diet I found in a book at a health food store. After years of tweaking he finally got tired of that too. So back to store bought? Yes! Finally companies are waking up and giving us good quality dog foods to choose from.

What I love about the Avoderm wet foods are that they have huge chunks of carrots,peas,blueberries,potatoes. They aren't just veggie powders they are the real thing.

Right now my pup is going through Chemo therapy for bone cancer and has a low appetite at times. He loves this food.

It's a little "gooshy" so I put in the fridge for a more firm easier food to work with. ( he doesn't like "gooshy" either)

My only gripe is that it is hard to find locally and I have to order it online but a HUGE thank you to Amazon for carrying it at a very reasonable price.

I had to change my dogs food. She was over weight and just wasnt as active as she used to be. Her food wasnt good for her. From what i read, it was the equivalent of eating cheetos everyday! The dogs liked the taste, but it was terrible for them! I switched to avoderm weight control dry kibble, but she wouldn't eat it. I tried mixing in a higher protein kibble, but no go. Added a little Avoderm chicken and rice as a topper, and she DEVOURED IT! I tried to switch off to a cheaper food topper, and she wouldn't eat it, and on the rare times she did, it really upset her stomache, even after a reasonable transition period. Switched back to avoderm chicken and rice canned, and she is doing great! She's lost 3 pounds, and is MUCH more active! I LOVE this food and so does my girl!

Since I have gotten new info on the best dog foods for my pets, I have been looking for a wet food that did not have that stabilizer in it called carreeghan[mispelled] and when I read the ingredients in AvoDerm that WAS NOT LISTED. When it arrived--just out of curiosity I checked again and there it was! There is some research which supports a risk of cancer when using this ingredient. So I have now had to switch again and I now feed my dogs LIFE4K9 wet food which hasn't got that ingredient and I feel much better. I feel this omission must have been intentional by AvoDerm and I won't support deception when it comes to the safety of my precious furkids.
