These along with the toy are great for my year old hound. I put one in and break it (so she can't pull the whole stick out). They are made to crumble and the pieces fall through the holes in the toy. Less mess and noise than the treat ball.Chews just crumble and creates a huge mess on the floor. Big waste of money and even the dog didn't really like them
