Our Yorkie is beyond picky. She gets the homemade chicken stew made for her and usually loves it. She stopped eating it last week & we have been trying everything to get her to eat again. When we had that dog food scare where Peoples pets were getting sick and some were dying I switched to HALO and haven't looked back. My dogs and cats love this brand and all have benefited from eating it. I will be a faithful customer for as long as this brand of dog food is on the market. It's packed with very nutritious ingredients which makes it wholesome for my pets. I alternate between the Spots Stew Natural Dry food and my home cooked Chicken Stew for my dogs. For my cats I strictly feed them a HALO diet because they are up in age and this is the most balanced cat food on the market. My beagle/pointer mix was never a good eater. He's rejected just about every dry dog food we've tried to give him since he was a puppy, and we've had to cook his meals for him daily. He also has food allergies, so we're careful about what kinds of food we give him. When we had to travel out of town for several days, we needed a solution, and happened upon Spot's Stew (both canned and dry). He loves it! We still cook for our spoiled boy, but we can now supplement his diet with a quality dry food that has the nutrients he needs. I wish it were less expensive, but our fur-baby is worth it even at double the price.I switched my two 10 year old Haveneseish mutts to Halo canned and dry food a little over a year ago. One was starting to have some signs of kidney issues, but refused to eat the Rx kidney diet food. They had always had "sensitive stomachs" and she also has allergies to the corn in the Rx kidney diet food. One month after giving up the attempt at the kidney diet (for both since they share each other's bowls), I took her back for a retest on her kidney functions, expecting bad news. I was thrilled to learn the kidney functions had improved to almost normal levels. The vet thought I had caught it just before it became too late to change, and I believe finding this food helped both my dogs to live a longer life. Not only that, but a happier life since their stomachs are NEVER sick on this food. One year of normal tummies is a miracle for them. I give them a spoon full of canned pumpkin (not pie filling, regular plain pumpkin) on the side of 1/2 can of canned Spot's Stew mixed with the dry Chicken Spot's stew, and the eat every bite. Had I waited to change their food another month or so, it would have probably been too late to reverse the kidney disease that had just begun in one of my 2 sisters. They have never been apart, and are inseperable. Some may complain about the price of higher quality food, but you can't put a price on the fact that their vet now believes they may be together for another 5 years, or more! This is not the food you need once their kidney functions fall below 10%, it's too late then to do anything but give the Rx food, sub Q fluids, and enjoy the last months with your pet. I believe that if you feed quality food, you may also be lucky enough not to face that sad news for many years to come, if started in time. I am so thankful that I have years more for both my dogs to enjoy their Spot's Stew together, and the price of the food is cheap compared to Rx diets and all the vet visits they don't require!My 2 dogs love the Halo Spot's Stew natural dog food. They have not grown tired of it and have it every day. Recommend it at least 4 stars
