If giving your dog treats that are safe from hormones/chemicals is your highest priority then pay the extra for these treats. They look just like beef jerky that you might buy for yourself. I got these treats just before Christmas when there was a variety pack of 5 flavors for $9.99. My German Shepherd would not eat any of the liver based treats. There did not seem to be any added spice or flavors on smelling them myself. I must assume my dog just hates liver.
