Today's Bonus:
Just got these today, gave one to my 9 1/2 week-old Eskimo puppy. Went to refill water bowl. Came back less than two minutes later to find him chewing happily away, which seemed great until I noticed great spots & smears of deep orange on his bedding towels.
The bone wasn't even visibly marred or wet, but there were also big spots of orange on both his front legs and his face. I'm really glad I didn't leave it in there longer. I tried to take pix of the orange-blotched puppy, but the light in here's lousy. It's too bad; he's adorable (but naturally so; doesn't need a dye job).
So, maybe if you're a rabid Denver Bronco fan* (or maybe U Tennessee), you might be happy with these, but they REALLY need to lay off the annatto. I assume they're trying to make he sweet potato ingredient stand out, but products made with real sweet potato don't bleed radioactive orange all over the place.
Puppy gives it many stars (I think); I give it zero for ludicrously overdone coloring.
*Actually I am, but not so much I want my house & my dog looking like they got cluster bombed by neon pumpkins. We have a 6 month old Corgi who has snow white paws. She loved the Healthy Edibles bone, but we were dismayed that her paws, face & carpet were orange after she was done eating it!!! Both the carpet & her did come clean with soap & water but I did not give her the other ones. This is a great treat to occupy my puppies when they get restless, or if I need to run out. They love it and make sure to like an crumbs off the floor. The only downside is that they chew through the bone really quick. My dog loves this product. He can hardly wait to get one when offered. I also use it as a bribe to get him to come inside....works like a charm!
