My German Shepherd loves to gnaw the ends of bones and sticks. And he loves to use his front teeth to shred ropes and soft toys. I thought I had found a soft toy that he could toss and flip around inside the house, and would hold up better than a plush or rope toy. Alas, I was wrong. He quickly shredded the ropes that were woven through the rubber pieces, and left the rubber laying there once it came apart. It LOOKS stronger than regular rope toys, but it is only as strong as its weakest link.My 90 lb. Golden Retriever liked this rope, but not as much as his other ropes. Maybe it was the black things in the middle that turned him off. In any case, the rope is not as durable as it looks (with the black rubber). It was destroyed within a week.
