My 14 year old tabby cat loves these shrimp treats. They are what the bag says freeze dried shrimp from India and nothing more. When you open the bag it has a very strong smell. Since writing this review I have switched to giving my cat freeze dried Alaskan salmon treats from Whole Life Pet Products, which are made in the USA.

PROS:

100% freeze dried shrimp, nothing more, no additives or preservatives

CONS:

The bag sometimes does not reseal tightly, so I put the bag in a larger zip lock bag.

My cat goes crazy for these and they are much cheaper and identical to the smaller bags of freeze-dried shrimp sold at my local Petco. However, I dramatically reduced how many I give him after reading that the iodine content in shrimp is unhealthy for cats. And there is also no warning on the bag about this! Your cat is probably safe eating these, but don't overdo it, just give a few a day as special treats. Even if a few a day is safe, I don't plan on buying more due to the health risks.

Also, the bag states that these are wild caught and processed in India, a place well-known for its very loose government regulations, particularly when it comes to companies pumping industrial chemicals and waste into waterways...keep that in mind if you plan on feeding your cat these treats

This is my cat's most favorite treat. Needed an all-natural, preservative-free, non-chicken crunchy treat for a cat with severe food allergies and this is perfect. I use it as a treat or crumbled on top of her allergy food to entice her to eat it. She'll eat anything with this crumbled on top. Also is a super reward for taking her meds. Shrimps are very tiny since they're freezed-dried, but they have a good aroma to them (or so I've been told by how crazy the cat becomes when the bag is opened). Amazon offers the best price anywhere for this size of the product. Thanks, Amazon!
