First thing is that the picture posted on Amazon is not completely accurate (for the Grey/Savannah bed). I don't know how it appears to others, but when i bought this bed, I thought that the top of the bed was a grey suede type fabric, because that is how it appears in the photographs. It is not fabric. It's actually a soft plastic type top that looks like worn out or aged white leather. It looks really nice, but when I first received it, I thought they sent me the wrong bed. After comparing to the pictures I came to realize that it was actually the correct bed, but an inaccurate picture. Despite this error, I decided to keep it.
My immediate assessment is that the bed is a little less firm than you might assume based on the picture. It fluffs up to look a bit like what you see in the picture, but not exactly.
I'll post an update after my dog has tried it out for a few weeks. She's the final judge, anyway.
