I purchased the large for my 50 lb lab mix. The side opening is just large enough to allow pieces of kibble to fall thru when tightened to the most challenging position. The toy easily dispenses food with just the nudge of a nose making this a good option for beginners. The top and bottom halves tend to come unscrewed easily making it very easy for all of the food to dump out. The toy is softer rubberized plastic making it quiet on hard floor surfaces. For that, it earns it's stars.

The toy is not very challenging, but it does slow down eating. For more challenging options, I recommend the Buster Cube or one of the Nina Ottosson games.

As many other reviews have stated or at least alluded to, this is for supervised play. If your dog chews everything up, it will chew this up too. Again the Buster Cube might be a better option, as it is too big to fit in most dog's mouths.

Overall, I am satified with the product, I just don't find it particularly inventive or impressive.

This is a fairly solid toy that my dog had a great time with. I smeared the inside with peanut buttter which keeps the kibble and apple treats from dispensing too easily. However, my dog (American Staffordshire Terrier) is a descructive, voracious chewer and this toy was no match for his jaws or his chewing appetite. It was destroyed within the hour.

The package does say "Longer Lasting Playtime," which was true. The average "chew" toy usually lasts about 5 minutes.

So, not suitable for heavy chewers or strong jawed dogs. I would say it would be great for the average pooch.

I have corgis. They are too smart for their own good. I bought this to put food in and keep them busy while I slipped away to work. They did chew up the puppy version, but it is a softer plastic. This one has held up and is nice because I can wash it, every part of it. Some other treat puzzles have corners and places you can't reach without a dishwasher. I like this one.

My girlfriend's cousin had one for his dog and we were looking for a "puzzle" type toy anyways. Tried this one and we love it!

My dogs a chewer and he hasn't destroyed this one bit, contrary to other reviews. (we got the Large)

The holes are a bit large for our small kibble, but I like to break apart Beggin' Strips and that seems to keep him more occupied.
