Based on years of feeding my dogs this food: I believe it is a good maintenance food. It isnt real fatty, has a good amount of protein and bulk to satisfy a dog's appetite. I also feed my dogs other types of foods, including meat sometimes. Regardless of what the experts may believe, my intuition tells me that animals need a blend of foods and I dont have a problem with grains either. Everything in moderation. My dogs arent show dogs and they arent competition or hunting dogs. But they are healthy and not overweight. That makes me happy.

My dog has always been finicky, and has had numerous digestive issues all his life. We've tried all the high end food products available. This past summer, he had HGE, and was in the hospital for 4 days. He was on Hill's prescription food and loved it! So we switched to Hill's Science Diet gourmet turkey when he was allowed, and he EATS! Is now very impatient for meal time and so much healthier. We will not feed him anything else. Highly recommend!

We have two retired greyhounds, and one of them is super picky. If he doesn't like the food, he will only eat a couple mouthfuls a day and leave the rest. We have tried numerous foods, including Wellness Core, Natural Balance, Taste of the Wild, and Pedigree but he loves Science Diet. A few of the other wet dog foods also gave them upset stomaches when we switched, but we didn't have any problems when we switched to Science Diet. I don't mind paying more money for my dogs to have high quality dog food, but I'm a lot happier when they are happy and eat what we give them.

I have gradually progressed from buying relatively inexpensive pet food from the supermarket, to the top-shelf supermarket brands and finally to Hill's Science Diet. These foods are a very high quality, and my dogs have switched to this brand without complaint. I will continue to purchase this food for my pets, in spite of the higher cost.

My little paraplegic dog seems to fully enjoy this food, and it's been a struggle to find one that's decently rated, free of a lot of the objectionable fillers and is pleasing to her. At her stage of life and in her conditon, I want to be sure she's receiving good nutrition and has something she eats readily. This seems to fill the bill and so long as they don't change the formula I'm hoping this is one she can stay on forever. Another reason I like it is that it's a ground formula, and not "cuts in gravy" which means less of a clean-up of her face after eating, which she really hates. Don't like upsetting her if it's not necessary, so that's a real plus for me. Also, as others have noted, it hasn't caused her to have diarrhea or upset stomach.
