We rescued two 5-month old Miniature Schnauzers and, of course, we wanted to feed them the food that would meet all the requirements needed for growing puppies. I went on the internet to find the guidelines as to the levels needed for healthy bones, skin, teeth, etc. I checked the ingredients of all the major dog foods such as Iams, Science Diet, Eucaneuba and none had the recommended dosage. I spent hours on the internet and in the pet store researching dog food brands and labels. I was shocked to see just what the "grocery store brands" put in their food. I found corn as the first ingredient, chicken meal and chicken by products as the first on the list. I found this food and was impressed by the types of whole meats that are in it. I compared label after label of the $ dog food to this. It is pretty much the same. I compared it to Innova amd Merrick etc. I am so impressed with the results. My Puppies stool is nice and formed and there's alot less of it too. It seems that his body is using much more out of this food intead of passing it. Also, he eats this dry wothout a problem. I started my litter of puppies on this food because of the ingredient list. No fillers! I have become a fan of this brand and now purchase the adult formula for my labs. They love the kibble and maintain a healthy weight. I can't say enough about this product; I now use their canned food as well to supplement the kibble. I like to eat only wholesome food myself, and after reading, "Food Your Pets Die For," I am committed to feeding my dogs only holistic food like the Chicken Soup brand. Some major brands of pet foods, like Iams, also does lab testing on animals. A cruel, unnecessary method of testing new ingredients.My last lab died of cancer and I believe most commercial pet foods with the GMO fillers and meat by-products are a major contributor to her death and the increase in pet cancers overall. Do your pet a favor and stay with foods with real meat as their first ingredient, an NO CORN! Wild canines would never touch an ear of corn!Our 5 month old mini pinscher used to be on natures choice, which he loved, but gave him pretty bad gas. This dog food is awesome. If you compare the ingredients with other, more expensive, dog foods, it is very similar. Our dog does very well on this food and seems to love the taste.
