After doing tons of research on quality puppy kibble with no corn, fatty fillers, and other byproducts and trying to stay within a reasonable budget I decided to go with Diamond Naturals. Feel free to google Diamond pet foods. They process many top shelf dog foods. Call of the Wild, Chicken Soup for the Dog Loves Soul, Solid Gold, Kirkland, just to name a few. I just switched my 5 month old Doberman pup off of Solid Gold's Wolf Cub to the Diamond slowly over the past few weeks. She loves it. Nice solid stools, great shiny coat, and no bad gas. Best of all, the price! At 41.99 for 40lbs its hard to beat compared to other top brands. I always mix a little quality canned food (Natural Balance LID) sweet potato & fish or duck in with her kibble for a little added benefit and flavor. Overall Diamond Naturals is a great product at a great price! Highly Recommended!I purchased this recently for our 4 month lab. We had used Purina puppy chow and he had really bad gas. So, we started him on Taste of the Wild and he did great, his coat with shiny and so soft. He didn't have anymore bathroom issues and no more gas! The price of Taste of Wild is a wee bit high, so we thought we could find a similar food with a smaller price. We found Diamond for Large Breed Puppies and we thought we hit gold, it was cheaper and supposed to be same quality. I don't know if we had a bad bag but he was on it for a little over a month and we just switched him back to Taste of the Wild. His coat was dull and he was scratching alot and he began to have a lot of runny poop. I wish it would have worked for us but no luck! I feed this food to my 9 month old pitbull. I have no idea what he grew up on but when I got him at around 7 months I started him off on Blue Buffalo thinking it would be a good food for him but in his case it was not. He had awful watery diarrhea and horrid gas that really scared me and after getting him tested at the vet for any parasites (which he was negative for) I believed it was the food. Granted it is an excellent quality food but it was just too rich for my baby. I then found out about Diamond which had a little less richness but still high quality ingredients and at a very reasonable price. I fed him about 1.5 cups twice a day with trying to mix in some of the leftover Blue Buffalo and eventually just gave him the Diamond. He still had bad gas but it was less frequent and his stool went from scary watery to soft. So far I'm happy with this food and I'm trying to find out if my pit has an allergy or if his digestion track is just sensitive. I still feed him 1.5 cups twice a day with a little bit of Prozyme for digestion and while he's still not at an ideal point we are getting there. Maybe feed him a little less? And I'm also trying to put weight on him as he is a bit skinny even feeding him an adequate amount.Anyway, this is a really good food and while I don't buy his food on amazon I do buy it at the Tractor Supply Store for about $33.00 for a 40 pound bag. I also plan on sticking with this food and trying to see what I can do about my pittie's food issue.
