I bought one of these about 7 years ago and am now getting a new one. It has held through 2 dogs and is just starting to look a bit tired. Getting the cover on and off for washing is a little bit of a challenge. My dogs are able to see and be seen which makes them happy travelers. They ride in comfort and safety. People ask me frequently where I bought it because it's the nicest they have seen. The storage area works well for small water bowl, treats etc. Looks nice enough to leave in place all the time so it's ready when needed.I really like the car seat. The 'seat belt buckle to the harnass thing" is a bit difficult but my dog seems satisfied enough and much safer. It is very nice not to have him jumping about the car during our trips to and from the office. If I had it to do over I would get the black. The tan/gold is fine, but I would have gone for the black if I had it to do over.
