This is a high-quality food, but I think it's best for young, active dogs. I bought it for my 11 year old mixed breed because he needs grain-free food for his itching. It worked for that, and he loved the taste. However, he's had some problems recently, and blood tests showed liver inflammation, as well as elevated cholesterol and very high triglycerides. NONE of the problems were caused by TOTW, but it's extremely high in fat and protein, so it's exactly wrong as a maintenance diet for a dog like him. Many older dogs have similar problems, so unless your older dog has had recent, comprehensive blood-testing, you may not want to put him/her on such a rich food. My dog is improving on a low fat, moderate protein diet. If I had a young dog getting plenty of exercise, a food with a minimum of 18% fat and 32% protein would probably be just fine.

Well, this was a disappointment. I bought this food wanting good quality food formy dogs, but they will not eat it.

My dogs can not get enough of this dog food. They devour their food instantly and licking their chops for more. Definitely would recommend. Healthy choice.Last time I had to transition him from one food to another, it took a whole month. Imagine my surprise when my little 8 lb dog just dove into this food. I became concerned when he started chewing on his paws, which I've heard is a sign of allergies, so I wanted to switch him to grain-free food. A 5-lb bag of the last food I bought was $17 so I could not pass up this deal on the dog food I was going to buy anyway. The ingredients look really healthy. Small poops, no tummy upset, he likes it, what more could I ask for. I recommend it.I've been owning, breeding, racing and showing, Siberian Huskies for over 40 years. Now I have a Siberian Rescue I've been training for 9 months. In that time I've tried several premium dog foods in the hopes he'd really like one. He loves this stuff! Every time I put it out, he does the happy dance until I put it down, then eats all of it gone. So I guess that makes both of us happy campers.
