Rocky our parakeet, was rescued by us from neighbors that did not take good care of him. Rarely changing his water and giving him plain cheap seed. It was so sad. When the neighbors go on vacation we take care of their dog and we did not even know about his little thing in a dark corner of a room for 3 years. I demanded that they would let me take him.

A new cage, with new toys, fresh water twice a day, a little tub, baby spinach, pieces of apple and carrots. We used to buy parakeet feed in bulk at a local pet store but we had ongoing problems with moths hatching from the seed and flying around the house. When we brought it to their attention they just shrugged their shoulders. I started buying Kaytee Forti Diet Pro Health Food for Parakeet over a year ago and Tweety seems quite content. It would probably be better if he rated the feed, but he has not learned to type yet! It ends up being cheaper and I don't have to chase moths around any more!

my birds seem to really love it. They eat it up real fast and beg for more. My only issue is it seems to be a lot of the cheaper seed stuff and they won't touch the pellets.
