My dog Ralph got very sick after eating the Castor and Pollux Peanut Butter Flavored Wheat Free Mix. Initially, I didn't know what made the dog so sick, and even after a $500 vet workup they couldn't say, but a week later, when he recovered I reintroduced that treat and the puking began immediately. I contacted the company, surprisingly their vet found nothing wrong with their treat and I was stuck with the bill. I will never purchase any Castor and Pollux treat again and will tell anyone who will listen the same, starting with the dog park crowd.

Merrick replaced their Classic Thanksgiving Dinner with the Purrfect Bistro Thanksgiving Dinner. My cats loved the original classic version. Now, they won't even touch the Purrfect Bistro, and I don't blame them. Not sure how they changed it or what they did, but the new version honestly looks and smells like cat food . . . that my cats have thrown up. I have a mix beagle-(that can literally destroy and eat thru almost ANY toy/bone out there) we have had a number of different chew toys and bones to occupy our baby Razz over the past 3 yrs and she eats thru and destroys everything with-in 24 hrs (except for the soup bones we get from the meat dept at supermarket). They all leave messes and are disgusting to even touch...this Redbard filled bone is AMAZING!! Rcv'd it May 23rd and she went nuts before I even opened the box from Amazon! We do make her keep this for 'bed-time' in her crate, but she actually tries to get in her crate to get to it and she sneaks it out and tries to hide from us and chew on it. I have never seen anything like it. She is not the most disciplined dog I have ever owned, but will listen to just about any command if she thinks she can have this treat! Will def be ordering this again. Did I mention she has barely even put a dent in it and there is NO MESS at all--no left over pieces to step onno slime feeling when i pick it up either. I love this bone so much!! I bought it for my 4 month old dobie when he was teething and he is almost eight months and has just barely been able to chew the sides down a little. He will pick it up to throw it around since he has no manners and still plays with his food ;) and it doesn't break or crack. Only time consuming bone I will ever buy. I tried kong and puzzle toys for treats but he loses interest to quick. But he works at this for hours before getting tired.

She likes to chew and these will help to clean plaque from her teeth and they do a very good job of almost totally eliminating bad breath, at least for a while. She often has bad breath and doesn't like her teeth brushed so chewing is a very good way to clean their teeth as well. I learned from previous experience that it's much better to keep them chewing and brushing their teeth occasionally so they don't have dental problems as they get older. My oldest Chihuahua never liked to chew and refused to have her teeth brushed and she ended up losing quite a few teeth as she aged. So as long as my youngest Chihuahua likes to chew then I am glad. She devours these chews in about 3-4 minutes and is coming back for more. These chews are very reasonable priced when compared to some of the other dental chews that cost many times the price.

My 7 YO mini poodle is an extremely picky dog. I have tried dozens of treats to try and get him to chew and scrape off plaque and keep his teeth nice. He basically only likes chipped rawhide (which I avoid usually due to choking hazard and low production quality), True Chews Lils bully sticks, and True Chews pig ears. These ears are made in the US from US-sourced (Tyson brand) meat. They are very greasy, so I bought a clean new pair of pruning shears and cut them in half. Our vet gave us a packet of these treats to take home with us. She said the 'stinkier the treat', the more cats love them. She was correct when it comes to our cat! Camree LOVES these treats! It worked for my Australian Shepherd. He was without scabies within 10 days of use. It does stink up the house because its pretty much straight sulfur. It also temporarily stained my dog's white hair yellow but it washed out after a thorough bathing. Also be advised you are not supposed to use water with it. That took my a while to figure out. I probably just didn't read something.
