I bought this toy for my dog in order to stimulate him and keep him busy trying to get the treats out. I have to say that I am very dissappointed with the outcome. The hole is large enough for any treats to easily fall. I even put the treat stick in it hoping that it would take him a while to get it out. Yeah, it took him less than a minute to figure it out. It's really no challenge for him. I have a 85lb lab and although he is smart, I don't think it takes a smart anyone to figure out this toy. Thinking about returning this to the company because I don't think it's worth the $20 I spent on it.

I've only had this Romp n Chomp for half a day and no matter what happens from here on out, I consider it money well spent! We have a 4 month old Weimaraner who does not sit still for 2 mins at a time and we're pulling our hair out trying to keep him entertained. The first time he sat on his bed for 45 minutes with it, then I loaded it up again and it took him another hour. Most successful toy yet, it really is 3-in-1. On the first round I put small peanut butter star-treats inside of it, filled the outside yellow 'well' with doggie squeeze cheese from a can, and inserted the chewy bone as instructed (it is HARD to get in that slot which means it holds on tight while they wrestle with it). On the second round I put his kibble inside (mixed with a pinch of squeeze cheese this keeps it from falling out too quickly, per the other reviews that said the hole is too big and the treats fall out quickly) and I put an 8-inch rawhide stick that I bought in the slot... whatever you stick in here is ultimately what will last them the longest, and the longer it is the harder it is for them to get leverage to pull it out. I am so delighted we found a small, reasonably priced toy that will entertain him for so long.

My blind dog loves this puzzle! However the pink floppy door was broken on it's second use. It got flipped by the dog's nose quite gently in fact and the pieces flew off of the toy. There were only little wooden toothpick like things holding the door in place not even glued in. That door is not at all well made in my opinion. We still use the puzzle but that one door should be redesigned. I am not sure this wood used would hold up to a larger dog. Thus gets a two from me. CB

What can I say? I came across this puzzle and thought my 6 year old beagle would love this! I ordered it and as soon as it arrived I opened it and put some treats in it for him to try and get out. He was having a great time trying to figure out what to flip and what to slide in order to find his treats. Well after about two minutes the wood started chipping and ripping right off the top from where he was using his paws to try and move the pegs. He was not being rough with it, he had just figured out what he needed to do and knew using his paws instead of his nose would get him faster results. Well after one 4 minute play session, the thing went in the garbage. It was ruined. There was no paint left on the top and the wood was so thin and cheap that it was breaking apart and chipping. I'm usually a fan of Zanies products, but this one, not so much.

The dog is supposed to use paws and mouth to open up compartments to find treats. Our puppy is small and loves toys. We had the Slide and Seek for 3 days. Day one, dog was allowed to use it for 10 minutes in the morning while supervised and enjoyed the toy, but left teethmarks on all the cheaply made knobs. Later that day, 10 minutes again, the dog bit a piece off of the large sliding knob. Day two, 5 minutes, the dog completely pulled off a knob. The knobs are glued in and only recessed 1/4 of an inch. Very easy to pull off. Choking hazzard do not purchase!! Day 3, returned for full refund.

A puzzle that entertained my dog for a short time, but didnt make her wild with enthusiasm to play with it. She learns quickly, so it was a quick playtime toy. I bring it out every couple weeks, and she gets the treats.. but doesnt wag her tail to play with it. That is how I am judging my 3 star review.

It's durable enough for my 6-lb yorkipoo. The first time, it took him about an hour to figure it all out--a couple of hours if you count the time he spent trying to get me to do it for him. Now that he knows how it all works, he removes all the treats in about 90 seconds or so, and then starts in on me to to load it up so he can do it again. The game lasts until I've decided he's had enough treats for one day.

Since we do have cats as well as pet rat I let them try it as well. The cats were quite curious, sniffed them and even licked them, but weren't interested in it. The rat on the other hand seems to be having a feast with them but wouldn't hold still for a picture! In the end, it's 50/50 in our house on the treats. The dog & rat love them, the cats on the other hand are happy with their typical cat food and treats. My conclusion is that these are quality food products for my pets and I feel great allowing them to have it!

Wow! Great price! I'll never buy these at the pet store again! About 6 months ago we started giving our rat terriers Greenies after my vet told me about them. We couldn't afford $400 + each to have our dog's teeth cleaned (and there is just no way these dogs would let me brush their teeth) so we tried these. What a difference it made!!!! The tartar an plaque buildup on my 11 yr old girl is almost completely gone and my 6 yr old boy's teeth look like I had them professionally cleaned. We have 2 pembroke corgis, one 60 pound hound of mixed heritage, who all love these saddle bones. These bones are great chews for active chewers which all of our dogs are. We only allow the bones under supervision with our large 60 pound 1 year old pup because he is such an active chewer that he will break off bone pieces. The older corgis just knaw contently without as much vigor once the meaty bits are gone.

I used to give our dogs bully sticks but those last at the most an hour even the 12" ones, so they were always looking to chew on something. I tried different flavored Nylabones with very little luck. The corgis will not even chew a Nylabone but the pup will occasionaly chew the chicken and beef flavored ones.

The saddlebones last a good while, at least 3 months for the pup and longer for the older dogs. They do take turns chewing on eachothers bones no matter how you try to keep them separated. I keep a couple on hand for backups for those rainy days and all dogs are completely captivated for hours.

We also buy these for our kids 2 dogs; a Stafforshire Terrior and a 60 pound Labrador Mix. They also love their saddle bones! These are good size bones that do vary a little bit in size but very good for dogs anywhere from 37 to 70 pounds like ours are.

Will buy again and again. Highly recommended

I'm not sure if these help Zack's breath or not. Usually his breath if fine, but sometimes it's bad. Giving him the Yip Yap has not seemed to make an immediate difference in the breath. But i've found that they are a great training treat for him. I've used them throughout his life, he's now 5 years. He really loves them and i think they smell very good, kind of like chicken soup?. They are small and are not going to put weight on him. And i can easily break them in half, and then they are really really tiny, and that makes a good training treat, something a dog really loves that's really small, makes them happy without making them fat or costing a lot, and something that won't spoil or get messy. I love the little tins they come in, easy to open and close and store. This is the second time i've gotten the large size with twelve tins in it. I don't like the other large size of these which i used to get, those cost about a third or less of what these cost but only come with one tin, and the rest are in a cellophane bag. It doesn't close tight, i put a rubber band on it, but it was more hassle. Now i get this big size with 12 tins in it and i place the tins around the house in areas where i often give them to Zack, for example near the back door, or where i sit in the family room, so that if i let him outside in the backyard and he starts barking, i yell 'no,' and 'come,' and i shake the tin, and that will usually get him to stop barking and come into the house, and then i give him that little reward that he loves so much. My old cat takes thyroid medication every morning and night, little pills that she gets with Pill Pockets. Zack wishes he could have Pill Pockets too twice a day but that would be really expensive and i'm not sure it would be good for him, so i started giving him a little piece of Yip Yap when i give Fluffy her Pill Pocket and everyone is happy, so i keep a tin by Fluffy's medicine box.

I have been using this product for years, now for my current Great Dane who was not fed properly and ended up with early on joint problems, and for my first Great Dane who was also not fed properly as a puppy which also created joint problems. Those of us who love are pets are at the mercy of cure-alls for their ailments. When I first looked into joint medications for my 12 year old English bulldog , I was frustrated that all the Meds my vet prescribed came with horrible side effects.
