Found that the mother, after whelping, will barely eat or drink. But, put bowls-full of this in front of her, and she'll lap it up like she can't get enough!

While this purchase did fulfill and immediate need, and delivery to the door is ALWAYS preferable to venturing out into the world of the consumer, this product seemed less fresh than the same product purchased at large discount stores and/or smaller stores focused only on pet products. This was also more expensive, not counting shipping, than the same product at a super-store vendor. All-in-all, not worth the extra money or (shudder!!) the trip to Wally World.

I ordered a tube because my dog was having problems with the skin on his belly and inner legs. The first thing I noticed that I didn't like was that it was more of a liquid than a gel. It was too thin and did not adhere to the area it was to treat without me rubbing to make sure it didn't run all over the place. While it provided relief from scratching, it did not clear up the problem, and I used the whole tube. I had better luck with Carmex Healing lotion. I would not recommend this product nor will I buy it again.

There is a definate reason these everlasting treat balls are always sold out of the big local pet food storesthey are fantastic! My dog is a very rough chewerhe can even rip apart kongs, and he loves these treat balls. They don't last him for "hours" per say as the package states, but enough time that I am able to have him busy when we have company over. It's especially helpful if you insert a treat ball in both ends of the blue ball, making it especially challenging to pop out the edible discs. Not for an everyday treat obviously, due to quantity and prices, but I will definately buy them again!

First: If you don't have the ball holder, don't bother with these. They aren't really "everlasting" in the ball, but they'll last you a whole lot longer (for most dogs) when inserted in the StarMark Everlasting Treat Ball, Large

Second: Make sure you get the right size for your dog. If you have a giant breed, this whole line isn't really for you. My 40lbs Aussie who is a moderate chewer, is about the large ball's limit and once she pops the treat out, the remainder is gone in less than 5 minutes. If you have a tiny dog, get the right size. They aren't going to be able to handle the large. They need to be able to gnaw at it, which they won't be able to do on the larger balls.

Third: These are pretty neutral smelling, which is a plus for this line. I know dogs are all about the smell of things and the stinkier something is, the more they like them...but when you have to share the household with a dog, you need to find a happy medium. This is ours when company comes over. It has no real smell, but they aren't her favorite either.

I bought a 2-pack of the liver flavored Everlasting Treats to see if my husky/g.shepherd puppy would like them. She ate the first one in one sitting. That wasn't very "everlasting" and at nearly $4/ea it was an expensive treat. The 2nd one she took 2 3 days to eat, so I decided I would buy more of them as an occasional treat. My next puchase included the treat ball and a couple of other flavors (BBQ and Vanilla Mint). I put a Liver and a Vanilla Mint in the treat ball and she went LOVED the VM. It took effort this time to enjoy it, and she worked on it for over a week until there was nothing left but a disk of the treat in the treat ball (so I removed it, gave it to her, and put a new treat in the ball). The ball definitely helped a lot in slowing down the consumption time of the treat and she enjoys playing with it.

The good news: dog loved it. The bad news: he ate it faster than any other bone we've ever given him. Rawhide bones take him a couple hours normally, if he decides he wants to destroy one in a sitting, so I was looking for something that would take significantly longer. This...not so much. Took him 30-45 minutes max, and it was completely gone. I guess there is one more plus though...in our incredulous search for the 'rest' of the bone, we looked under the couch and found two of his rawhide bones he'd 'buried' a couple weeks ago. Guess we'll stick to those.

I'm not sure if these help Zack's breath or not. Usually his breath if fine, but sometimes it's bad. Giving him the Yip Yap has not seemed to make an immediate difference in the breath. But i've found that they are a great training treat for him. I've used them throughout his life, he's now 5 years. He really loves them and i think they smell very good, kind of like chicken soup?. They are small and are not going to put weight on him. And i can easily break them in half, and then they are really really tiny, and that makes a good training treat, something a dog really loves that's really small, makes them happy without making them fat or costing a lot, and something that won't spoil or get messy. I love the little tins they come in, easy to open and close and store. This is the second time i've gotten the large size with twelve tins in it. I don't like the other large size of these which i used to get, those cost about a third or less of what these cost but only come with one tin, and the rest are in a cellophane bag. It doesn't close tight, i put a rubber band on it, but it was more hassle. Now i get this big size with 12 tins in it and i place the tins around the house in areas where i often give them to Zack, for example near the back door, or where i sit in the family room, so that if i let him outside in the backyard and he starts barking, i yell 'no,' and 'come,' and i shake the tin, and that will usually get him to stop barking and come into the house, and then i give him that little reward that he loves so much. My old cat takes thyroid medication every morning and night, little pills that she gets with Pill Pockets. Zack wishes he could have Pill Pockets too twice a day but that would be really expensive and i'm not sure it would be good for him, so i started giving him a little piece of Yip Yap when i give Fluffy her Pill Pocket and everyone is happy, so i keep a tin by Fluffy's medicine box.

I haven't yet tried this with the cats, but my standard poodle immediately took to the tablets. She's normally fussy about food and treats, so this was a real winner. The label suggests one tablet per 10 lbs. each day, so a 1000 count bottle will last quite some time. I'll post again if Holly suddenly starts acting like she's three months old, or if she grows a fifth leg. Some of you people need to read what the main purpose of this product is for. It's not to protect your pet from fleas. That's a supposed secondary effect. It's supposed to help repel fleas, "supposed to" being the key phrase. The product is mainly to help with your pet's coat and skin. If you have fleas, you need to get rid of them first, and then it may help to keep them off your pet. Don't expect to have it get rid of the fleas your pet is already infested with. My dogs have used brewers yeast with garlic for years without a problem and have never had any fleas or ticks. But then again, I live in Arizona where there aren't a lot of plants, shrubs, or grass.

These dog treats are the same as the kibble that I feed my dog. My dog was vomiting for no apparent reason. After my dog's veterinarian told us about the food, I started her on it and after a week on it she stopped vomiting...that was four years ago. The dog treats are the same as the kibble. They come in two different sizes (small for small dogs and puppies and medium for medium sized dogs). My dog is 47 pounds and about 20 inches tall and I feed her the medium sized treats. Sometimes I find that the bone shaped treats split in layers so they are thinner than usual but my dog doesn't seem to mind.

My pitbull puppy (10 months old) has a sensitive stomach it is common in the breed. She would get terrible gas with normal "puppy" dry food and sometimes throw up. I was a little worried about trying the Bil-Jac food because I've heard that it is not good to change up the food too quickly or too often. However, we just switched it over one day (after getting a free coupon from BzzzAgent) and she ate it with absolutely no problem! Not only that, she hasn't had any gas! She hasn't had any stomach problems or anything to indicate sensitivity! This food is incredible. It is expensive, but really worth it for the health of your pet. I highly recommend!

I bought this thing after a recommendation from a pet store rep. My dog hardly touched the stuff, and then I looked at the ingredients: one of the first things on it was corn-a grain known to cause allergies in dogs. As a matter of fact, corn might be the most allergy-prone food amongst dogs. Not to mention, thanks to our friends at Monsanto, it is almost always Genetically modified (GMO) or a franken-food, unless it's organic. Real "premium" dog foods brag that they've no corn.

Right at the top of the list of ingredients is chicken-by-products, another no-no among real "premium" dog foods. This means all the waste that it is usually thrown out from the chicken since it's not real meat. Cheap dog foods put this in their food simply because it's cheap, but it's not real meat. A little further down you will notice BHA, an artificial preservative, which again real "premium" dog foods do not have.

In short, BilJac is a joke. It is basically, insanely overpriced Alpo, with no organic ingredients whatsoever, and uses all the shortcuts, filler, and chemistry that the cheapest dog foods on the market use. Don't be fooled by the old-fashioned appeal of the company's 60 years in business. There is nothing but modern chemistry in the bag, and all the folksy appeal will not make up for cheap, lousy ingredients. I ended up buying Blue Buffalo Wilderness and I have not looked back.

My puppy, now 6 months old, has been receiving one of these everyday since she was 4 months old. She loves these things and I am not sure why. She will toss it in the air for 3-5 minutes and stalk it like it was catnip. It is the highlight of her day. When she was 4 months old, it took 10 minutes to finish, now it takes about 2. Still, to find a treat that makes a dog happy, really happy, is rare. Also her breath is neutral and her teeth are clean after eating these so I guess they work?

By cutting the chew in half lengthwise (like cutting a cheese long in half) there is ample amount of circumference, and depth of chew for toy breeds to safely use this chew. Daily use has resulted in less plaque and tartar, and the dogs like the taste, texture of the chews. The smaller size chew did not prove as good to use though dogs liked the taste recipe is same.

I have a dog with irritable bowel disease, food allergies, early stage renal failure, and early stage mitral valve disease. Oh and since she's old and missing some teeth, it's hard for her to chew crunchy treats. She's a hot mess. Anyway, it's really hard to find a treat that meets my standards of nutrition, which are very high, and also meet the sometimes competing demands of her various illnesses (eg. It must be low protein for the renal failure, low fat/sodium for the cardiac disease, lacks common allergens, soft for her lack of teeth). This treat meets them all. I also like that they easily break into smaller pieces. Most importantly, SHE LOVES THEM!! It's not a cheap treat, but it's high quality and low consequence, which makes it worth ever penny.

My only complaint is that it doesn't come in a higher quantity. Until then I'll just continue to buy multiple bags at a time.
