When I give my dogs treats, I like to make them work for it. Unfortunately many treat balls have drawbacks usually revolving around the size of the snack that you can put into the ball. The Holobal is a great treat ball precisely because of its flexible nature. I can fit all sorts of treat sizes into the ball. While there's not much challenge compared to something like a Omega Paw Tricky Treat Ball, it does help slow the dogs down and forces them to work on a problem before wolfing down the snack.

Durability-wise, my dogs don't find the ball that interesting when there are no treats in it, so they don't aggressively chew at it. If they did, the rubber is pretty soft so I don't think it would stand up to too much abuse.

Clean up is a snap with this toy I just wash it with dish soap in the sink. Very easy to reach all the nooks and crannies in order to get the slobber off.

I would say that this is currently my favorite treat ball to use with the dogs.

When I first purchased Chicken Food Roll for Dogs, 4lb, it was at a sell-out at a Tractor Supply in Kearney, Nebraska for a couple bucks. That was then. Today,it is a mainstay for our dog rescue for elderly dogs with bad or no teeth, ill dogs as a wholesome and natural food product, or as ways to tempt the pickiest dog and the ones with sensitive stomaches. I have used RedBarn for years. My dog loves it. I cut it into two inch chunks, Freeze it, and keep one chunk in the refrigerator. I cut off a small slice as a treat as Mosby (my dog) and I walk. He loves it and is eager to obey me. (Mosby is a relatively good dog, German Shepherd).

Other dogs we've tried it on also loved it and were easier to train. In one case, the owner said he was untrainable, and after a sample of the dog treat, he quickly learned to come to my whistle.

I routinely walk Mosby without a leash. He comes to a call, clap, or whistle (assuming the proper reward).

Unlike hot dog slices, this stuff is good for him. Mosby is now 11 YO and in fairly good shape.

My dogs (2 Dachshunds, a Chihuahua and French Bulldog) LOVE RedBarn Chicken and Liver Dog Food Roll. And I love feeding it to them and here's why:

1) It is MADE IN THE USA and contains NO corn or soy. The Lamb and Rice flavor is wheat free as well. Dogs can have or develop allergies to corn, soy or wheat.

2) It is cooked in the casing for less nutrient loss and specially prepared and packaged without oxygen so that it will remain fresh at room temperature without the use of artificial preservatives such as BHA, BHT or Ethoxyquin.

3) It is 93% digestible which means less dog poo and fewer cleanups.

This product is just not for cats even though it is promoted as such. The size is so large it had to be cut into 4 pieces. Getting one pill down is a challenge, 4 is impossible. Even a piller device did not help. With no coating, the cat gets the full taste of brewers yeast and garlic spitting it out every time. The smell is so strong that putting it in food did not work either. Inability to get it into the cat, leaves me with a product that I can not use. Wasting money in today's economy doesn't make me happy. Can't say if the product does the intended job which is to rid the cat of fleas thus the low rating.

Try inserting a sliver of cheese and half a small milkbone or other treat--your canine companion will play happily with it for as long as it takes to get the cheese, which obviously will vary widely, dog to dog. I have a maltese and a poodle mix. Besides placing a bone-shaped treat into the largest opening, I found my own way to stuff with treats: placing small cubes of freeze-dried beef liver treats deep into the tube and stuffing small bits of Pupperoni into the small side holes. The Pupperoni treats are an easy goal, but the liver cubes are harder because they have to either chew the toy to push/crush the cubes out or lick the cubes out. Both ways give my dogs some exercise and fun. It may last about 15-30 min depending how wedged the cubes are.

The only CON are this toy is that it can be very small to clean. I have the small size toy (for toy breeds). Medium size may be too large and heavy for toy breeds, but they're probably easier to clean.

This was a great idea only IF YOU have a dog that doesn't chew as if it's a professional sport.. if you do have a high end chewer don't get this. It has not lasted but a few days had to toss it out because I worried about them eating pieces of rubber.

I found this toy at Petco on clearance for a dollar or so and decided to give it a try. I read its description and it mentioned being able to utilize several treats to keep a dog's attention. I thought I'd try to see if it would hold my existing dog food that I get from Costco in the maroon package by Kirkland and it was a perfect fit!

I filled all the little holes with Kirkland dog food and later filled the inner chamber with dog food first, and then plugged the holes with the same food, causing pressure to be exerted on the inner chamber of food disallowing it from falling out.

My dog was very happy! He is a Chihuahua and an aggressive chewer. He has torn up other toys, and I have been reassured by pet specialists that this is normal behavior; but other than a small tear, this toy has held up.

I am not currently sure where this toy is, last I saw it was by the couch, but when it was actively used, I would have to refill it once or twice a day. I no longer have any of the Kirkland food that fits this toy, otherwise I'd find it and put it back in use.

I have been told that dogs like to test their toys for weaknesses and exploit them; thus being a good idea to not leave them with the same set of toys for long periods of time. Rotate the toys to keep dogs occupied and keep toys intact. I suppose if my dog could use a computer, he'd make an excellent brute-force hacker.

SADLY, I FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY THAT THESE MOO BULLY STICKS ARE NOT 100% DIGESTIBLE! MY DOG ALMOST DIED AFTER A PIECE DID NOT DISSOLVE IN HER STOMACH.My 3 dogs loved these Moo Bully sticks. if you expect a bully stick to smell like nothing at all, you have to wonder HOW they would achieve that. when they don't smell, I worry that I'm feeding my dogs bleach and other toxins. if you don't understand why they smell, you may not fully understand what a bully stick is. (I'm surprised at the number of people that give them to their dogs but have no idea what they are.)

the size is average, comparable to what I've bought in stores, including name brands. (sometimes when you order online, you get sticks that were super stretchedthey are thin, but they are the length claimed in the product description.)

bully sticks are not cheap. ordering a 45 pack really lowered the price per stick. *but if you've never tried them, buy one (per dog) at the pet store before you order a 45 pack.*

most dogs like them, but some do not. if you have 44 and a half sticks that you aren't using, you can donate them to me. (really, try your local shelter/humane society.)

I buy bully sticks because: dogs like to chew them. they are natural. they use animal parts that might otherwise be thrown out. they are safer than pig ears and rawhide (but nothing is 100% safe). they help keep my dogs' teeth clean (help. this isn't a toothbrush or a dentist). they last long enough to keep the dogs busy, but not so long that the dogs get bored (and leave a very stinky chew to be smelled for weekscow hooves). my dogs like them and are always excited to get one (I try not to give them more than one or two a week).

in summary: this is exactly what I wanted and exactly what I thought I ordered. if you are looking for a bulk bag of 12" bully sticks, you've found it. if you're not really sure what you are looking for, this probably isn't for you (yet).

This is such a great idea! My mice need to chew on things a lot to keep their teeth short but cardboard tubes are too soft for them and they end up chewing through a bunch every week.

This couch is really cute!! My mice sit on it and chew on it from the sides. It's made of hard material so it should last a while by the time they get through it all.

To get them to sit on it right away I put a few sunflower seeds on top and then they figured out they can eat the couch too.

Great for my mice's teeth and my amusement.

CON: the green pillows in the main product image are misleading the 'green pillows' are only on the bottom part of the couch not on the back of the couch and they are directly attached.

My gerbils don't sit on this and actually move it in front of their wheel so they can hide behind it. But it is chewable, which they figured out very quickly, but it not easy to chew and apparently isn't very appetizing to gerbils or at least not to my gerbils. So, yes, it will take them quite a while to finish and so it might last them between other snacks, but they don't really like chewing it. I gave them a chew "log" today with seeds and such inside it and they chewed and chewed that. They just didn't like this couch enough to chew it much, just some nibbles here and there, and it's been in there about a week.

And as another reviewer mentioned, there are not actually cushions of any sort on this, it is just the bottom of the seat that is molded like cushions, they are not removeable, though they are green. There are no "cushions" of any sort or any coloring on the back, it is just the brown that the rest of the couch is. I only mention this because the picture doesn't look like the product.

This takes up a good amount of space inside our gerbils' cage, so I'm not sure how long we'll keep in there, but at least it gives them something to hide behind and can be chewed on if they run out of other things.

The description is quite misleading. But I suspected something was funny because the price was too low for 30 of them and ordered it anyway. It is a nice stick, but with the shipping it cost me about twice what it would at the local WIlco. But STICKS is wrong and the description should be corrected. If you go to dog.com you can get a case of about fifty for 100 dollars, which works out to be MUCH cheaper.

UPDATE: They changed the price now, so perhaps you will get 30. I got one for 12 dollars plus shipping at the time of the review. If you did want to buy a case, the one stick I got was very thick and good quality.

Bravo makes the best bully sticks. The are natural, not straightened to get 3 x 12 like the others. It takes my Goldens 4 times as long to finish as a normal one.if price is an issue you can cut these in half and your dog will still get more enjoyment that the regular 6 inch one.

This part is very important. They do not smell when your dogs are eating them. The normal ones that everybody else makes all smell like urine while your dog is eating it.

Very much in this case (no pun intended) you get what you pay for. I have been giving my dogs Dingo Ringo years because that go thru the USDA and too much stuff comes out of China that kills dogs. But I just read an article on how they get the raw hide white. They use lots of peroxide.

So now this is what they will get. No stinky smell and they get 4 times the enjoyment and it is way better for them. All of it digests where the rawhide stays in the body a few weeks. Now I do not have to limit giving it to them just cut back on food.

By the way in terms of cost. A 12 inch at the per store is 11.99 so this is way better pricing, even if it is twice the cost of the stretched and stinky ones.

These treats are inexpensive, easily eaten, and just as good as the $.25 ea (100 for $25) rawhide sticks that PetSmart sells. My dogs like them quite a bit. They'd probably like them better if there was some kind of flavoring, but hey, these treats still manage to disappear within 10 min. so I'm not concerned.

They are rather tightly twisted (a problem I've found in other inexpensive rawhides) & they're rather uniformly sized (again, unlike others, there aren't 30% teeny-tiny sticks) which I really appreciate since I'm generally using these as pacifiers when it's time for my doxies to wind down for the night.

I saw another reviewer was upset that these treats are irradiated. So are a lot of foods. That circle you see in the picture? That's saying it's irradiated. It's not especially a secret (though yes you won't be able to see that on Amazon), they're drawing attention to the fact to show that the sticks aren't going to be harboring growths. Nothing about these suggests it's unhealthy (just do a quick search for "food irradiation" and you'll see how over the top that reviewer's reaction was). That's not to say concerns aren't justified, I'm as anti-import as anybody and buy the most meat-centered, non-grain, non-everything-bad diet I can afford... it's just going to be pretty obvious that this cheap of a product probably isn't going to be up to organic/green standards.

For me and my dogs, that's fine. They only get one every few days anyway. They'll probably get something worse from licking the toxic kraft mac & cheese dye out of the pot first anyway :)

The apparent misrepresentation is not really shocking since, who would buy them if it were made clear that you were buying something that could not only harm your pet, but has a longer shelf life then Mathusela. I returned both bags today (received yesterday). I suppose this is the answer to dog deaths by foreign germs/chemicals, just irriadiate. Don't feed your dog food/treats processed in ways you would not want for your own food. Let's pay attention!

About five years ago I noticed that our three cats were beginning to slow down a bit. Recently started giving these to my cats and they LOVE the taste! (Which is job one).

I noticed their coats started feeling softer and silkier, so perhaps this supplement is filling in some gaps missing from their diet.

I also like that these are sugar free.

Just watched Dr. Oz and they had Consumer Labs on who tests ingredients in vitamins/supplements for humans and animals. Here is the report for this:

FOUND .60 1.79 MCG OF LEAD PER DAILY SERVING OVER THE SAFE AMOUNT

Pet Tabs was approved.

Not getting all the vitamin C is not a problem in my opinion, but heavier doses of lead that are dangerous to our pets is a problem. I'll be switching.

These are supposed to be "fun shaped chews" although cats don't care about the shape of a chew. The product I received was mostly broken bits, stale, with a fair amount of useless powder in the bottom. I am going to phone Pet Naturals to complain, but since I ordered these from you I will also tell them who supplied them. I cannot find an expiration date on the foil package, but even if it were there I should not have received stale, broken bits as no one should be selling outdated food products.

It's grain free and gluten free, which are important to me in a cat product. (They aren't meant nor designed to eat those things)

My cat loves them, but he eats anything, so I have no idea if a picky cat would like them.

But based on the ingredients and good packaging (nice resealable bag), I'm giving this product 4 stars.

I thought this was a great deal until I calculated that I'd have to give my 75 pound German Shepherd 4 pills a day. It's maybe a break-even proposition, and it doesn't have chondroitin like many other formulas do. It might work well if you were dosing a small dog, but isn't it mostly bigger dogs who have joint problems?

This product works very well for my adult pets. My pets are 10 and 11 yrs old. One mixed breed German Shepherd and Chow; the other is a spunky yellow Labrador Retriever. They are great guard dogs and very active. We hate to see them limping, especially after routine walking exercises.

This food is awesome. After many years on the other kibble, my greyhounds had no problem at all with the change, and loved this right away! My dogs are getting older, and the oldest has been gaining a bit of weight. While I'd love to buy them the $50 bags of food, I just can't right now. So I'm weaning them from their regular kibble to this shredded, weight management formula. I assumed they'd turn their nose up at it, but they dove right in. The shredded formula makes it easier for older teeth to chew. I got an 18-lb bag at Pet Supplies Plus for $29.98, so might want to check around for prices.

For now, we're happy with this.

I'm updating to five stars. After a week on this dog food, I'm using less food and they're staying full all day and not begging for more in the early evenings. I use less canned food because they don't need the encouragement to eat this kibble. Very pleased.

We have a little Maltese that we spoil to no end. These treats are the perfect size for him and he loves them.

He can be a little picky. Among his daily treats are Greenies and since we found these on Amazon, Zuke's Jerky Naturals. I will say that we tried two different kinds. Along with these, we tried the Wellness WellBites Chicken and Venison Recipe Dog Treats, 8-Ounce Pouch.

The Zuke's are really potent. When you open the bag, you catch a big whiff of how strong they are. They're probably real flavorful because of it (I didn't try one). The Wellness treats seem a little dryer. While our little guy likes both of the treats, the Zuke's win over the Wellness. Plus they're cheaper so that's even better. He can't get enough of them.

We also tried the Zuke's Z-Ridge Mini Carrot Fresh Breath Dental Chew Bones, 15 Count Pouch made by Zuke's. He doesn't like those as much as the Greenies.

I would say that this product is one of the best we found for our dog. Plus we were able to take advantage of the free super saver shipping as well. These are highly recommended.

He still loves them!

We've had to start giving our little guy Remedel for a little shoulder injury he had. These Zukes make it real easy to give him the pill. Since they're moist, we just put the pill inside and press it all around the pill. That way he doesn't even know he's taking it. Trying to give him pills with the Wellness treats doesn't work so well since they're dryer.

Anyone else notice that they seem different?? The last couple packs we bought were dryer and brittle. They also weren't as potent as the other ones were. He doesn't seem to like them as much any more. I don't know if the bags we bought were partially opened so they dried out by the time the were delivered or if their recipe changed. I'll buy some more and see how they turn out. A little disappointed...

I have a geriatric mini poodle. He can't chew biscuits or rawhide textures,but these treats are soft enough and still provide some workout for his gums and remaining teeth.

I appreciate the fact that the ingredients are domestic and it is manufactured in the US.

These are not the tough, durable jerky that I was expecting, but small, soft, chewy squares. They break up easily into tiny BB sized balls (maybe 12 per square) and my puppies will do ANYTHING for them! Best dang training aide on the market!

My dog Zuke's Mini Naturals, but I decided I wanted to have him try these. He eats them, but I can tell they aren't his favorite as he hesitates a bit. Zuke's is a great company and are my company of choice when it comes to treats. They offer great quality and a decent variety of flavors. I ended up using these treats to hide and have my dog find them during his scent class. These treats seem a bit more brittle than I would like so I will be sticking the the Zuke's Mini Naturals Dog Treats from now on.
