I was very hopeful in getting this product because my Chinchilla persian has such a problem with eye discharge, but I am VERY disappointed. It does smell awful and even if I sprinkle a tiny amount on her food, she won't touch it.

So, I have no idea if it works or not because she won't use it.

If this company comes out with a pill form for cats, that would be much better. But for now, I would not recommend this product.

My shaded-silver persian who has the dark excretions from the eyes, doesn't seem to like to taste of this whether I mix it in wet food, sprinkle on dry and when I put it in water as suggested, it just floats on top won't mix in. Her eyes have cleared up a bit, but not fully been using about a month now.

don't buy anything labeled "cats" from angels eyes buy the dog equivalent flavor & size because it's the exact same stuff, just priced 20% higher. most cats will not eat angels eyes sprinkled on their food (dry wet raw), so if that's your expectation, don't buy this even if your cats eat anything, since cats smell the Tylosin (medication) and would then rather starve. the only way I got my cats to eat this was to force feed it using the following trick; mix the daily does of angels eyes in with half a teaspoon of creamy peanut butter. spoon the peanut butter angels eyes mix all over one of your cats paw and they will be force to lick it clean. wait to do this when the cats are tired not playful, or you'll have peanut butter paw prints all over your house. it's best if the peanut butter is soft, so if you keep your peanut butter in the fridge, zap it for a few seconds in the microwave to soften first. If you already feed your cat a malt based hair ball remedy on their paw, you might as well try adding the angels eyes there instead. I'll update this review by Oct'09 to see if consistently doing my peanut butter torture method actually cleared up my big eyed Siamese cat or not. Here are some more ideas from their web sight;

Q. What do I do if my dog or cat won't eat enough regular food mixed with Angels' Eyes®?

A. If this happens, you can put Angels' Eyes® in their water, keeping the same daily dosages. But ALWAYS add the water to Angels' Eyes first. DO NOT pour Angels' Eyes® into the water. Another great idea is to feed it to them as a treat by mixing it with yogurt, cottage cheese, baby food, peanut butter... etc.

UPDATE: After 2 weeks of trail and error, my cats are eating wet/raw food with this powder on it. Normally I would not leave wet food out overnight, but that's what it took to get my cats to eat this powder. They still don't attack their food like they do without the powder, but reluctantly they will eat it eventually.

We have been unable to get our himmy persian to touch the stuff. Even after withholding other food, she would not go near it. Can't imagine why it would be advertised for cats.

This was a total waste of money. My cat won't touch any food I put it on, even her favorites. Don't waste your money on this
