I purchased these in hopes of having a way to redirect a young cat who likes to chew pencils, pens, and power cords.

If the ingredients had been listed online, I would have kept looking for other options!

The ingredient listing on the back of the bag reads: soy protein concentrate, wheat gluten, gelatin, corn gluten meal, chicken meal, and taurine.

The soy, corn, and wheat are all very common allergens for cats, often resulting in skin problems or gastrointestinal problems. While I didn't expect this product to be grain free, I was surprised at the sheer quantity of grains and fillers in these "treats!

In addition, the bag identifies the manufacturer as "Natural Polymer International Corp.", which means the wheat, corn, and soy products are almost certainly coming from overseas and possibly not from a company with pets at heart. Not so long ago, there were serious contamination issues resulting in pets dying from low quality, contaminated pet food fillers from China.

While it probably still beats eating pencils, I'd prefer to find a healthier, safer option for our cat.

My cat isn't the biggest chewer, but he does like to gnaw on my fingers sometimes. I just hold one of these out to him and he will happily sit and gnaw on it instead and he gets excited when a piece falls off. My other cat doesn't chew and isn't interested, but the treats do a great job for the one who does like them.

My 5 month kitten who will eat ALL his toys, really likes these. I started him out on it by holding one end and letting him chew the other end. I did this because I wanted to make sure he could handle it and not chew off a large piece and choke on it. He did eat the whole thing in about ten minutes and after about 5 minutes or so he could "hold" it on his own.

I was hoping the package would have had a recommendation for how many a cat should eat in a day.

As to wire chewers, most of my wires are covered in wire protectors. That seemed to cure him of wire chewing very nicely. He doesn't even both with uncovered ones now.

My cat who is normally a little piggie about food won't touch these. My dog is happy to eat them though. The ingredient list includes soy protein, corn and wheat. Normally I wouldn't order anything with grain in it for my cat but the Amazon page didn't give the ingredient list. Normally I don't give these grains to my dog either, but one bag won't kill him.

My cat tried to get a few chomps in, but then could not be coerced to eat them, even when cut into smaller pieces. Seemed pretty hard, but ok smelling. Definitely, two paws down.
