The Holistic dog food from Bench and Field is my dog's favorite. The ingredients are excellent and I can pronounce all of them! There is good meat content and grains are kept to a minimum. There are a couple of fillers in there that I could do without, but, as far as fillers go, they are less objectionable ones.

The kibbles are small, great for small dogs and toy breeds like my Tibetan Spaniel. I learned about this food because they carry it at Trader Joe's. More reviews at my dog blog, BadDogBaxter.com.

We have a mastiff, now 12 years old, that has a stomach so sensitive he can get sick just looking at the wrong kind of food. He had skin issues, turning red, itching and losing fur. We took him to the vet a few years back, they put him on lamb and rice, then on a very expensive brand of food containing venison, then onto salmon blend, finally a senior formula that helped the coat, but not him throwing up every day.

I was at Trader Joes and grabbed a bag of this as a last ditch effort to find a food he could keep down, after a new vet recommended I start cooking hamburger for him, it is easily digested and mix it with a natural dog food. He didn't say which natural dog food, but this was probably the only one the dog has not tried. It worked extremely well. We went from him being sick every single day to just a couple of times a month. I lessened the hamburger blend in the kibble until it was just a straight bowl of this and he has been fine ever since. His coat looks good and no itching, but better yet, his stomach is finally calm.

I order it on Amazon when I can't get to Trader Joes and it is nice having it delivered straight to the house. I would recommend trying this before going through some of the other expensive blends of food first. This company has been in business since 1926 and it is made in the USA.

This is the only food my dog has eaten all her life. She's a pug/terrier mix. She's now 5 human years old. We have a special plan with her vet so she visits the vet every six months for comprehensive exams. She's never been sick. She has soft, shinny fur and nonstop energy. People are always shocked at how soft her fur is when they pet her. Her only issue is dental problems but that's our fault. Have to practice brushing those teeth (when we were more vigilant she had better dental). Anyway, I've never tried any other dog food but considering for 5 years my dog has remained in the same healthy condition with this brand. I don't plan to change. I normally buy this at Trader Joes but I'll try ordering it from Amazon now that I found it here.

I originally gave bad rating cause I ordered this and it didn't come in time. When SANDY STORM came to NYC a family member had to leave their place of residence and was sleeping in there car unknown to me ,then they asked me to take in there dog because new place at the time couldn't take them with the dog. When I got Bear he hadn't eaten for a week and wouldnt eat the can dog food I bought. So my sister husband told about Bench Field . He gave me a small sample and the dog ate it. I couldn't find this in any stores near me so I ordered it on Amazon. I was cooking food for the dog but I knew his owner needed food for the dog so I paid overnight delivery so the food could get here when the owner came for Bear. Well a mistake was made and the food didn't come. So I called Amazon and they listened to my complaint and sent a whole new bag for free. The dog loved the food and I was able to send the dog to his originally family with food. I changed my rating to 5 because I buy often from Amazon and appreciated the great customer service they provided when it was really needed. This family needed to take the dog with his food they had gone through enough with Sandy Storm getting there food in time was important especially since even spending gas in driving was a problem. So thank you Amazon for making it possible for me to bless this family and helping them get their dog food. :)

Our dog only eats Bench & Field Dog food. We use it as treats too she loves it so much. She never eats cheap filler dog bones. She is a 10 month old large dog, very slim (perfect said the vet) healthy with a beautiful coat. It costs a little more, but we don't want our dog eating garbage, fillers and "by products" we all know what that stuff is.
