Malcolm, our rescue Cairn Terrier (the HAIRIER terrier) loves to chew. I mean REALLY REALLY REALLY loves to chew. He doesn't go after "hard targets" like wood furniture, but he did destroy the "mattress" in his dog bed. He is trying to figure out how to chew our cats without hurting them. They do not like his experimentation.
Found Bully Bones at a Petco, he was on the first one, dashed off to a defensible corner, and chewed his silly head off!! (Not literally.) But when he starts trying to chew the cats, we know his stick is gone, and he needs another one. So I buy them in bulk.
Did I mention he has BEAUTIFUL teeth vet said keep letting him chew them. There is nothing here to clean.
