I recently adopted an 80 pound chocolate lab/hound mix from the local shelter. She is VERY active and, understandably so, suffers from some separation anxiety. I gave her one of these bones and she completely ignored everyone for 45 minutes, which is huge considering she usually spends all her time trying to climb on top of her people and/or whining and scratching at the door if one of us leaves. After 45 minutes, she lost interest and was back to being needy (we've only had her for 5 days, so her confidence is low). However, she had only gotten 1/3 of the peanut butter mixture out of the bone. I took the bone away and then gave it back to her this morning when I put her in her kennel. Amazing! There was no barking or whining after I put her in her kennel. I think this will definitely help alleviate her separation anxiety as she will learn that there are things in the world that are just as good or better than being on top of her people.My Goldens groomer suggested that I purchase these as her dogs love them. They look very good. I did not realize that it was nautral bone and I have never given bones to my dogs. The neighbors dohg reports that they are wonderful and loaded with peanut butter!
