I've used this product for years. It has 2 main ingredients. The first one kills live fleas and the second one (METHOPRENE) kills the flea EGGS! IF YOU DON'T KILL THE EGGS YOU'LL ALWAYS HAVE FLEAS!

I have dogs and cats. Some reviewers wrote that its not safe for cats-NOT TRUE! The first ingredient (Permethrin) is made from the flower buds of mums. Cats find it unpleasant but it won't hurt them as long as you don't apply it on them.

Zodiac is part of a 3 stage system for killing fleas. The other 2 steps are a topical treatment (Frontline Plus with Methoprine, and Capstar. Capstar is a pill that kills ALL FLEAS ON YOUR PET without doing any harm to them at all. Capstar is used in my clinic and shelters to kill fleas on infested animals. Capstar will NOT kill eggs and only lasts 24 hrs so apply the Frontline a day before. With dogs I just put it in a piece of cheese and they eat it. Cats are fussier so you can crush the pill and mix it in their food (tuna works best) but I'm a Vet so I know how to slide it down a cats throat.

Once given Capstar, put your pet in an enclosed space (the bathroom) for an hour or two and you'll see dozens of dead fleas on the floor. Some will still be alive so sweep them up with a vacuum and spray the entire area with ZODIAC immediately. A final tip: Fleas are easily killed by HEAT or COLD. Wash infected sheets, clothing, and put in Dryer on HIGH HEAT for an hour. Pillows and children's stuffed animals can be put in your FREEZER for 2-3 hours and all Fleas and Eggs will die. First things first, this is magic, but only one component to fix your problem. Make sure you're got collars and sprays/topical treatment for the pet(s), too (if not flea lights like Victor) to cover all areas. If you only go with one approach, it's likely you'll be going in circles.

I read aaaallll the reviews. Used Adams before and did well, but this seasons fleas were, apparently, ones where hell hath no fury in comparison.

Every have fleas in the house? This is the answer. Only product I have found that kills fleas and the eggs. Does not discolor carpet or floors. I sprayed all my carpets and my couches with this and so far, I'm only finding fleas on my pets. I tried flea collars and flea drops and nothing works. I gave my pets a bath, but fleas manage to reappear on their body. I'm hoping the cold weather will kill the fleas if I leave my pets outside in the freezing temps for a bit.

Anyway, I haven't found any fleas jumping on my feet or biting me after I sprayed this everywhere. After I sprayed it, it does give out a gas/oil smell for a bit. In few minutes, the smell goes away.

Product says it will keep killing the bugs for up to 7 months. We will see about that..

*Edit 12/9/2012* Been using this product for months now. I haven't seen any fleas jumping on me for few months when I walk on my carpets. However, walking on the hard floor is another story. I'm going to buy another bottle.

Moved and had an infestation and I have not death with fleas in decades. I tried all natural treatments for 2 weeks and still infested.
