The breeder where we got our little black pug puppy, Ruby Tuesday, recommended bully sticks as a way to keep the puppy busy and out of trouble. At the time, I shrugged it off, because the idea of what bully sticks are made of is sickening. Bully stix smell bad and they get sticky and gooey after they are chewed, however the dogs love them and they do keep the puppy out of mischief. We have two Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs who gobble them in a couple of minutes, but a bully stick lasts for hours for little Ruby. We take it away after she's had it for a while, and so one stick lasts for days.

With all of the petfood related recalls these days, I've become quite paranoid about buying new products. Our local petstore suggested these Buffalo bully sticks for our dogs, and after research I bought some. The dogs LOVE them. They don't have any crazy byproducts in them, and they last quite some time for all of our dogs, minus one. My pitbull/lab mix goes through them fairly quickly, but we are ok with that. It's worth being able to give them chews and know that they aren't going to suddenly be sick from them.

These are the perfect size for my 12lb toy poodle and it takes him about 4 days to completely chew one up (he only spends about 30min to an hour a day chewing it). He gets SO excited when I get a new one out of the bag! I love that it is free-range, grass fed buffalo. These have a slight odor to them, but not NEAR as bad as a typical bully stick/bone (the white ones with the red gummy stuff inside those stink so bad and I refuse to have them in my house). These especially come in handy when I'm too tired to play with him at night these help calm him down and give him something to focus on.

This product was quickly consumed by my dogs----they loved it. My only complaint is they went "too fast"----I think they need to be a tad thicker so they will last longer.
